Prosecuting Attorney: David Sutter

I am a lifelong resident of Jefferson County, Indiana, and I am proud to serve as your Prosecutor. I graduated from Southwestern High School in 2005 before attending Northern Kentucky University, where I earned my undergraduate degree in 2009. I then continued my education at the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University, graduating in 2012. Since taking office in 2018, I have remained committed to protecting victims, holding offenders accountable, and working closely with law enforcement and community partners to promote public safety.

My wife, Kate, and I live in Madison with our three children, Nolan, Hattie, and Henry. Being deeply rooted in this community, I care deeply about the future of Jefferson County and the safety of the families who call it home. I am committed to continuing to build strong partnerships, pursue justice with integrity, and ensure our community remains a safe place to live, work, and raise a family.
