Dr. Kasie Lessley is running for Madison Township Trustee to bring a fresh, community-driven approach to local government. As a physical therapist and small business owner, she has spent her career helping people navigate complex challenges, advocate for themselves, and access the resources they need to move forward.
She believes the role of Trustee is about more than financial assistance, it’s about accountability, connection, and creating real opportunities for people to improve their lives. Kasie is passionate about strengthening the community by connecting residents to local resources, supporting access to care, and fostering partnerships that make Madison Township healthier and more resilient.
Kasie is committed to being present, approachable, and responsive. She believes local government should work for the people, and she’s ready to serve as a strong, engaged advocate for the community she calls home.
I am a recently retired Engineering professor and live with my wife on Telegraph Hill in Madison township. I was quite active in the Democratic party when I was younger, and I hope to use my retired years to get more active again. In my teens, I served as an election clerk for the Democratic primary in my local precinct in Texas - my mom, the election judge, recruited me. In my 20s, I was a delegate to the 1984 Democratic National Convention and served as chair of the Palo Alto Area Democrats. In my 30s, when we lived in the Netherlands, I served as chair of the local Democrats Abroad chapter. I then started working for non-profit organizations and felt I needed to take a lower profile, politically. With retirement, that restriction has been lifted!
I am running for state delegate because I want to encourage the state party to do more to get (young people involved in the party. Also, I will do all that I can to help our state senate candidate, Bryon Holland, and my state rep candidate, Justin Chadwick, and I intend to support Beau Bayh's nomination to be our Secretary of State candidate at the state convention. I would be honored to represent all Jefferson County Democrats at the state convention and ask for your consideration when you vote.
Hi. My name is Don Rosenbarger and I am seeking the opportunity to serve as a Delegate to this year’s Indiana Democratic Convention.
I am the son of two Hoosiers – my mother was born and raised in Speed (Clark County) and my father was born and raised in Corydon (Harrison County). I was born and raised in Jeffersonville (Clark County). I graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 1974. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Terre Haute) in 1978. I hold a professional engineer’s license in Indiana and Ohio. I had the opportunity and pleasure to work in the heavy and highway construction industry for 44 years in various states around this country.
After retiring at the end of 2022, my wife, Jane, and I decided to move back to southern Indiana to be close to family and friends. My wife, whom I met as a freshman in high school, graduated from Indiana University. We will celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary in July. I have voted Democrat, Republican, Independent, and sometimes, I am sorry to say, have not voted. I have always voted for the person I deemed to be the best qualified for the office, regardless of party affiliation. And I will continue to do so.
Our country has serious problems, and we need to solve them. I encourage you to get involved and stay informed.
My name is Jim Schell. I am asking you for your vote to become Democratic State Delegate for state convention. As a lifelong Democrat I have witnessed how the concerns of the Democratic Party help all Americans live better lives. Today America faces many challenges, the greatest of which is the threat of losing our Constitutional rights as Americans. I support legislation and policies that empower all our citizens to pursue happiness as they see it. Our tent is big and can more than hold the dreams we all have.
I am Kathy Schell and am a candidate for Delegate for Democratic State Convention in June. Thank you for your vote!! There is an urgent need for new, wise, honest and compassionate leaders in our country!! The cruelty has got to stop! As a person who is now retired from my work as a clinical social worker, I am grateful to have time this summer to serve as needed at our state convention and to support in every way possible our local, state and national candidates in this most important midterm election of our lifetime. As a grandmother I am highly motivated and committed to the work of rescuing our Republic. I know I can’t do it all, but I can do something. This summer I hope to attend our state convention and also work tirelessly to register as many people as possible to vote. There is still hope for our country if we the people pay attention and vote!!
John Sinclair moved to Madison Indiana last year and fell in love with the city. He spends much of his time teaching physics and volunteering to support our local immigrant community. He currently volunteers with La Casa Amiga’s tutoring program and with MAARCH’s immigrant solidarity group. John believes the way we treat our most vulnerable neighbors tells us a lot about ourselves. He also enjoys walking his dogs though downtown Madison and talking with his new neighbors and still marveling at the historic architecture.
Before moving to Madison John lived in Kentucky. While there he was on the Owensboro Human Relations Commission working on housing discrimination issues and worked toward building support for a uniform residential landlord tenant act. With his work with OHRC he also worked to provide laundry days and increase visibility of the commission in Owensboro.
Best,
John
My name is Charlie Spitler. On June 6 of this year, 2,313 delegates will gather in Indianapolis for the Indiana Democratic State Convention. I am hoping to be one of Jefferson County’s representatives.
As a lifelong Democrat, I feel it is more important now than ever before to come together as a cohesive voice promoting our Democrat platform. We will also be selecting our Democrat candidate for Indiana Secretary of State, Indiana State Treasurer, and Indiana State Controller. With the 2026 elections approaching, a renewed sense of unity within the Democrat party will result in a much stronger party and electing more Democrats to the offices they are seeking. This process all starts at our Indiana Democrat State Convention.
Thank you in advance for your support as one of your Jefferson County State
Delegates.
Originally from outside the Nashville, TN area, my husband and I moved to Madison six years ago after falling in love with the area and the small town living, we lost long ago.
As an accountant, I retired after twenty-five years at Bridgestone Firestone Americas, then worked for five years at Catholic Charities of TN. Since moving here, I have been volunteering for the American Red Cross as a disaster responder, and a disaster duty officer. We adopt rescue bunnies and cats, and appreciate the opportunity to help others in need. As such, want to devote more time and effort towards furthering the mission of the Democratic Party. We have three adult children and our first grandchild on the way. This has prompted us to acknowledge now more than ever, the need to push forward the Democratic agenda to promote the changes needed to return Indiana, and the U.S.A. to a civil and just society.
